SYNOPSIS OF AFTER MATH
AFTER MATH previously known as IDENTITY is a domestic political drama
The peaceful Marxist revolution of the Caribbean nation Grenada in 1979 prompted a violent invasion of the Island by the US with camps set up in the aftermath that draw strong parallels to the current invasion of Iraq and the detention centres in Guantanamo bay.
Through the life of a family who managed to escape the horrors being perpetuated on the Island we are taken on a powerful journey that raises questions about existence, individuality and conformity.
“Paul’s writing is muscular and funny and like many of the great playwrights captures humanely the woes of family life and conjures a metaphor for these politically confused times.
”
“Paul took the cricket material and transmuted into something approaching metaphysics.”
